Abstract

According to The Guardian, the Ukrainian military, referencing computer games, launched a point-based "Army of Drones Reward System" one year ago. The system allows troops to exchange points earned from operating combat drones for physical weapons and equipment from an online store, thereby enhancing actual combat operations. Ukraine's "gamification" of drone operations appears to be beneficial in the short term, helping to quickly mobilize a large number of operators and increase the flexibility of target reporting and weapon allocation.
