Abstract

According to The Guardian, the Ukrainian military, referencing computer games, launched a point-based "Army of Drones Reward System" one year ago. The system allows troops to exchange points earned from operating combat drones for physical weapons and equipment from an online store, thereby enhancing actual combat operations. The results obtained have been reported as fruitful.

Short Commentary

Ukraine's "gamification" of drone operations appears to be beneficial in the short term, helping to quickly mobilize a large number of operators and increase the flexibility of target reporting and weapon allocation. However, this system also carries obvious risks and ethical controversies. Therefore, it would be unwise for Taiwan to blindly emulate this approach. Instead, the priority should be to integrate drone applications into a comprehensive joint warfare framework to maximize overall combat effectiveness.
